|
14 Oct 2007 // POSTED BY: Louisa |

Smart girl! The always sweet and gracious Britney Spears left her Malibu home around on Friday and stopped to get gas on Santa Monica Blvd. before heading to a private party in Beverly Hills. She stopped to talk with one of our photogs in the rain and told us, "I like X17." Aw, we like you too, Brit! And to show her affection, she gave one of our cars a gentle love tap - by accident! Brit was extremely apologetic, of course, repeating "I am so sorry!" It's okay, we forgive you - you're our girl!
Love the hat!
A pic from earlier that day, but we love it just the same. Lookin' good, y'all!

Britney Spears’ Suicidal Threats |
|
14 Oct 2007 // POSTED BY: Louisa |
|
Britney Spears was spotted out shopping last night, with paparazzi claiming that she even asked them to buy her a copy of Justin Timberlake’s latest CD. In recent gossip surrounding the troubled pop star, it’s been reported that Brit called up ex-husband Kevin Federline and threatened to commit suicide over their latest custody battle developments. While Britney said Gimme More visitation, the judge only granted her one day a week with her sons, and she was supposedly so upset that she dialed up K-Fed’s digits to complain as she drove down Los Angeles’ Mulholland Drive. According to News Of The World sources, an irate Britney screamed at him, “I’m going to drive off the cliff! It’s going to be your fault that I killed myself.” Another insider said of the incident, “Britney blows hot and cold. No one knows what’s going through her mind - especially her.” Source: The Gossip Girls

‘I was cool’ in court, Britney Spears says |
|
12 Oct 2007 // POSTED BY: Louisa |
|
Pop princess also tells X17 reporter she’s already gotten sons back
Britney Spears won a small victory in family court on Thursday, and to celebrate, the pop star treated herself to a bit of beauty at Neiman Marcus.
Before she had her hair done at the department store, Spears was confronted in traffic by a reporter, who asked her how court went.
“It’s cool,” Spears told X17 Online from the confines of her car. “I don’t know if the judge could take it, but I was cool.”
When the reporter suggested to the pop singer that she would get her children back, Spears corrected him.
“I’ve got ‘em back, baby,” she said before rolling her window up and driving off.
Thursday was a busy day for the singer. She also made a visit to the apartment complex her mother, Lynne, lives in, according to tabloid reports.
Later in the evening she was spotted out again with producer J.R. Rotem. As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Rotem worked on tracks for Spears’ new album, “Blackout.”
The two have been hanging out often lately, with paparazzi catching them driving around Los Angeles, hitting clubs and visiting drive-throughs.

Brit Cancels Dancer Auditions Because of "Flu" |
|
12 Oct 2007 // POSTED BY: Louisa |
|
In yet another bizarre turn in the Britney Spears saga, OK! has learned that the singer has called off auditions for backup dancers for the second day in a row. Her reason for today's no-show? The flu.
"She's telling people she's come down with a stomach flu," a source close to the Toxic singer reveals to OK!. But perhaps the real reason she called off yet another round of dancer auditions at the Millenium Dance Complex in North Hollywood is the fact that, of the thousands of talented high-kickers in the L.A. area, only 37 have even signed up to strut their stuff.
"To a lot of people, Britney is career poison right now," one Hollywood insider tells OK!. "And if she's cancelling auditions, why wouldn't she cancel shows on a whim too?"

Britney Bails on Dancer Auditions -- Again! |
|
12 Oct 2007 // POSTED BY: Louisa |
|
Britney Spears was a no-show for the second day in a row, canceling dancer auditions for her upcoming tour and new video.
TMZ was on scene at Millennium Dance Studio in North Hollywood today, where Britney had scheduled auditions of male and female dancers to take place between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Brit canceled at the last second, leaving dancers saying "Maird!" -- but in English. Some of the dancers, while disappointed, would have waited even longer for her.
Several dancers told TMZ that Britney rescheduled for a third attempt on Monday. Luckily for us, several of the terpsichoreans decided to show us a few of their moves, and reminded us to "Leave Britney alone!"

Britney and JR Car Hop Home |
|
12 Oct 2007 // POSTED BY: Louisa |
|
After the excitement of yesterdays hearing, Britney was in an indecisive mood last night as she and producer (paramour?) JR Rotem had a hard time deciding which mode of transportation (and which route) they would take home. After conferencing on the side of the road, and JR hopping in and out of Brit's car, the pair eventually decided they would take separate cars - although a seemingly lost JR did ask the photogs to lead the way!

TMZ told you yesterday that Brit ditched some auditions with dancers at the same time she was supposed to be in court, and UsMagazine.com talked to the owner of Millennium Dance Studio. He says that the fact that Spears has booked a couple months' worth of time at his joint is a "telltale sign" that she's prepping a roadshow.
Meanwhile, after her grueling 40-minute-long testimony at court yesterday, Britney decided to go on yet another shopping trip, this time to Neiman Marcus.

Britney Spears's Cover Art Revealed |

Britney Spears' s much-talked-about new album, Blackout, has arrived – at least as far as the cover is concerned. Here in this first look, the fedora-sporting pop star, 25, is shown in long brunette tresses and gazing directly at the camera. The release of the real album art comes after a series of fake covers were leaked on the Internet. The album will be released on Oct. 30, her label, Jive, announced Wednesday. BRITNEY: An early 'Blackout' |
|
12 Oct 2007 // POSTED BY: Louisa |
|
Jive Records has announced that Britney Spears' new album, "Blackout," will be released earlier than expected. Jive acknowleged that finished songs, along with unfinished material and demos, found their way online illegally. In an effort to prevent further illegal distribution, the label is moving the release date from Nov. 13 to Oct. 30. For the past several weeks, new Spears tunes have been popping up on sites such as YouTube and PerezHilton.com. Zomba Label Group, the parent of Jive, sued PerezHilton.com for copyright infringement yesterday, saying the gossip Web site illegally obtained and posted at least 10 completed songs and unfinished demos. The lawsuit doesn't specify the amount of monetary damages but requests real and punitive damages in addition to legal costs. Zomba owns the copyrights to Spears' recordings. "Blackout" is Spears' first album in four years. This is the track list, according to Jive Records: 1. "Gimme More" 2. "Piece of Me" 3. "Radar" 4. "Break the Ice" 5. "Heaven on Earth" 6. "Get Naked (I Got a Plan)" 7. "Freakshow" 8. "Toy Soldier" 9. "Hot as Ice" 10. "Ooh Ooh Baby" 11. "Perfect Lover" 12. "Why Should I Be Sad" Photo: Jive Records Source: San Diego Union Tribune

Britney Arrives at Court for Custody Hearing |
|
11 Oct 2007 // POSTED BY: Louisa |
|
Britney Spears has arrived at the courthouse in downtown Los Angeles for a hearing to try to get more time with her two sons.
Earlier in the day, a lawyer for the singer asked a judge for overnight privileges, saying the children are psychologically harmed by being away from their mother.
Calling the current visitation schedule "disruptive" to the boys' development, attorney Anne Kiley said Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1, are roused from naps and taken from Spears at 3 p.m. on each visit.
Kiley added that Spears's court-mandated monitor is willing to stay overnight to supervise the proposed visits, and suggested that Spears's mother Lynne could also serve as a monitor, since the two had reconciled over the weekend.
Kevin Federline's attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan said in a statement prior to the hearing that he objects to changes to the current visitation schedule.
"The fact that a party, one week after a full court hearing, attempts to change the orders of the court, in the absence of an emergency or without any new facts, suggests a continued lack of respect or understanding for what an order of the court actually means," Kaplan said.
L.A. Superior Court Commissioner Scott Gordon initially rejected the overnight request, but asked both sides to confer privately.
Explaining why Spears hasn't been granted more leeway with visitations, Gordon said Spears "made a conscious choice not to do anything" regarding his extensive Sept. 17 rulings, which called for random drug tests, and parenting classes and coaching.
Kiley explained her client "has trust issues" and was in a "transitional period" immediately after the Sept. 17 rulings.
"But we're making progress," Kiley said, adding that Spears "would've loved to attend today's hearing" but was wary of the media crush.
It was also revealed that Spears has only had one session so far with her court-mandated parenting coach. In addition, the commissioner stated he has not seen any drug test results so far, although Spears attorney Sorrell Trope previously said she has passed more than one.

Britney Bails on Dancers Too! |
|
11 Oct 2007 // POSTED BY: Louisa |

It seems that Brit's court event was delayed, and she did eventually show up, which precluded her making it to the dance studio in time.
Britney Spears not only didn't show for her custody hearing in an L.A. court this morning, TMZ has learned that she also bailed on dancers scheduled to audition for her new video and tour. Tour?
Brit Brit apparently decided to bail on everyone this morning. She was a no-show for the auditions, leaving dancers steamed when her new assistant called Millennium Dance Studio in North Hollywood and canceled.
"Over 50 girls waited for her to show this morning -- for over an hour," said our source. Auditions are supposed to be rescheduled. Hopefully, the dancers will be more receptive than the judge.

Britney Spears' 'Blackout' Hits Internet |
|
11 Oct 2007 // POSTED BY: Louisa |
|
Britney Spears' new album, the unfortunately titled "Blackout," is all over the Internet.
The surprise uploading of new tracks by the embattled pop tartlet/wayward mom has caused Jive Records to move up the release date from Nov. 13 to Oct. 30.
Even that may not help. Jive has scheduled listening sessions for press for this coming Monday.
But most media types, even those not proficient in computers, can hear it now.
Luckily, this column already told you about several of the tracks Britney recorded for the album a couple of weeks ago.
Songs like “Piece of Me,” in which she sings about her experiences with the paparazzi, and “Heaven on Earth,” which sounded like a monster hit to these ears, are among the "Blackout" offerings. On the Internet version, however, those songs are missing.
Of course it’s possible that someone thought the early leak would be good publicity for Spears. She’s otherwise prevented from doing very much press to support "Blackout" considering her present legal woes (she was chided by a family court judge for having drug problems and her children were taken away from her.)
Still, legal difficulties don’t always affect music stars. R. Kelly, for example, has been saddled with ongoing charges of child pornography. He also just lost a plagiarism lawsuit in Belgium for the Michael Jackson song “You Are Not Alone.” But the public doesn’t seem to care, and his albums continue to sell very well.
Even with illegal downloads, "Blackout" may have a big first week now that Jive has moved it away from Nov. 13. That’s the same day that corporate cousins Alicia Keys and Celine Dion also have new albums coming out. Keys’ CD, especially, should be a blockbuster. So getting Britney out early is a smart idea.
“Blackout” — at least the online version — contains 16 tracks of Euro-synthpop dance music. Recorded over a two-year period, and assembled through Spears’ mishaps by careful producers, the album sounds like a hit.
It kicks off with the single “Gimme More” and continues into “Break the Ice” and “Cold as Fire.” The latter, as we reported several weeks ago, has Spears gleefully tossing the F-word around. There’s also another unfortunate title: “Get Me High.” Between that and the album’s title, the family court judge — if he’s not a club dancer — may not be so impressed.
But it’s the ballads that are kind of mesmerizing. They’re the last two tracks on the Web version — called “Love Is a State of Grace” and “Let Go.” If it’s really Spears, unadorned, she’s going to change a lot of minds about her ability to put over a real song. She might even have a recording career in her future. Now, that would be a shock.
One thing’s for sure: If these songs are actually on the album, everyone in the music business is going to want to do business with Spears’ A&R woman Theresa Whites. She’s a miracle worker

Britney's Lawyer: She Has Trust Issues |
|
11 Oct 2007 // POSTED BY: Louisa |
|
Attorneys for Britney Spears begged a judge to overlook the singer's recent indiscretions and let her sons stay overnight with her.
They suggested to the court that Brit's mom Lynne could take over as the legally required monitor during the boys' visits.
But, as reported earlier, Brit-Brit did not appear at L.A. Superior Court Oct. 11, although her attorneys had urged her to do so, to personally ask Family Law Commissioner Scott M. Gordon to grant overnight visits with her sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James.
"For a 1 and 2-year-old child, developmentally, it is psychologically traumatizing to have their routine disrupted," said attorney Anne Kiley, filling in for Brit's lead attorney Sorrell Trope, who's vacationing in Italy.
Kiley said when the boys are with Britney, they take an afternoon nap "but need to be waken up at 3pm so they can get home" to Kevin Federline by the court-ordered time, 5pm.
But Gordon was not phased by the "emergency ex-parte request," telling Kiley: "This doesn't seem like an 'emergency.' I've made all these rules, and your client made a choice not to follow them. This is why this current order was made."
"Why are we even here?" Asked Kevin's attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan.
"She has trust issues," Kiley explained of Brit. "It takes her a while to build trust. We're finally getting her to trust us."
Kiley hinted that at the time of the order, Brit did not trust her then-newly hired counsel.
Sighing with frustration, the judge said, "I don't have any drug tests (results, here before me). No test results have been forwarded to this court."
The judge told both sides to "go have some coffee and try to work out the visitation issue."
All parties are set to return to department 88 any moment now, to discuss their agreements -- if any -- with the judge.

Britney Drops the F Bomb, Explodes on Paps |

11 Oct 2007 // POSTED BY: Louisa |

Britney Spears reached her breaking point with the paparazzi yesterday -- and exploded in anger toward snapping photogs.
TMZ caught Britney going into a Target in Culver City, where a sea of paparazzi followed her into the store and practically blocked her from shopping. Brit can be heard saying she was "so over it" and shouted, "What the f**k do you guys want?!" Brit and her new assistant then snapped at a rent-a-cop who was doing very little to control the situation.
As Spears made her way out of the store, Brit Brit asked if she could "borrow one of your cameras one day," then said, "Bye, y'all!" and drove off. Spears should be in court this morning requesting overnight visits with Sean Preston and Jayden James.

As Brit's mom rushes to her side, new video controversy arises |
|
11 Oct 2007 // POSTED BY: Louisa |
|
Did Britney come out swinging at Kevin Federline? Shocking new reports say Britney hit ex-hubby Kevin Federline during their marriage!
But Spears insiders strongly deny those allegations and say it’s just another attempt to make Britney look like a bad mom.
It’s just the latest salvo in Britney’s chaotic life. Now there is word that Britney’s own racy video may have her in hot water.
“Extra” has viewed X-rated scenes from an alternate take of the video for her single “Gimme More” where Britney dances - topless - on a stripper pole, covered only by silver pasties.
Now, her estranged mom Lynne has come to Britney’s rescue even though they haven’t spoken in months, jumping on a plane from Louisiana when the judge took her kids away.
People magazine’s Galina Espinosa took “Extra” inside this week’s cover story, which blows the lid off of Britney’s first civil meeting with her mom since June.
“To give you an idea how estranged Britney and her mom have been, when Lynne showed up to visit her daughter she actually went to the wrong house,” Galina said. The two had a famous falling-out this summer when Britney reportedly hinted that Lynne had a substance abuse problem and ordered her to stay away from the kids.
But the two are rekindling their once tight-knit relationship. Galina added, “On Oct. 6, they actually went out and took a walk with Britney's two sons. It only lasted about 30 minutes, yet what was important was that they just did it.”
And the secret people behind the scenes who brokered the Spears family reunion? None other than new best friend Sam Lutfi and her former assistant Alli Sims! Though Britney’s family and friends are rallying around her, she is far from out of the woods.
She faces huge court dates Oct. 25 and 26, the first for her alleged parking lot hit-and-run and the second for her ongoing custody case.
Britney has been ordered to be booked on the hit-and-run charge before that date. She’ll have to be fingerprinted and take a mug shot.
Meanwhile, “Extra” has learned that Britney has passed her court-ordered drug test. The troubled singer reportedly took several tests, and they all came out negative. She has also been meeting with a parenting coach and is reportedly taking the necessary steps to win her kids back.

Jive Records through Sony BMG, just announced Britney Spears much anticipated title for her first album release in four long years, calling it “Blackout.” Now don’t go jumping to conclusions about the title’s meaning because it doesn’t mean what you may think.
According to her record label, the title alludes to the blocking out of negativity with an embrace for life at its fullest, capturing the dance-friendly nature of the songs and giving a nod to past musical references with an ear toward the future, says Britney via the Sony BMG website. Jive also said there would be no tour to support the album at this time.

One Britney Spears mugshot coming up |
|
10 Oct 2007 // POSTED BY: Louisa |
|
A JUDGE in the US has ordered troubled singer Britney Spears be booked over a hit and run incident in Los Angeles earlier this year.
At an arraignment overnight, Commissioner Rebecca Omens said the 25-year-old pop star must be fingerprinted and photographed before October 25, when she is required to appear in court, the Associated Press reported.
Spears was charged last month with hit and run and driving without a licence after she allegedly smashed her car into another in a car park in August.
Spears was not in court today but her lawyer Michael Flanagan said she "must go to any LA police station for fingerprints and mug shots.".
"She will do that, but I don't know when,'' Flanagan told the celebrity website CelebTV.com.
The charges stem from an August 6 crash during which paparazzi filmed Spears steering her car into another vehicle as she tried to turn into a spot in a Studio City parking lot.
After assessing the damage to her own car, a paparazzi video shows her walking away.
The owner of the other car, Kim Robard-Rifkin, filed a police report three days after the incident, only discovering it was Spears who allegedly hit her car through a video posted online.
Flanagan said Spears would pay for the damage to Ms Robard-Rifkin's Mercedes-Benz.
"Britney wants to make sure (Robard-Rifkin) is compensated for any damages she may have and would like to figure out what those damages are,'' he said.

Britney’s Mom to the Rescue |
|
10 Oct 2007 // POSTED BY: Louisa |

Britney Spears once again takes the cover of People Magazine featuring secrets of her reunion with mom, Lynne Spears.
Here is the People cover blurb: “Can long talks and home-cooked meals put Britney back together? After the troubled star loses her kids, her estranged mom, Lynne, flies to her side.”
How will this issue fare since Britney is the biggest disappointment on the newsstand??
In related news, Brit has been drug-free! “She has passed her random drug tests,” said Brit’s family court rep. “There’s been more than one. They came up negative.” WOOT!
But on the flip side, L.A. Superior Court Commissioner Rebecca Omens has ordered the pop princess to be booked in her hit and run case. BOO!

Blackout” Album Brought Forward Two Weeks! |
|
10 Oct 2007 // POSTED BY: Louisa |
|
Britney Spears’s Blackout date is coming early.
The pop star’s much-talked about new album will be released two weeks earlier than expected, on Oct. 30, her label announced Wednesday, citing Internet leaks as the reason for the move.
“Due to these numerous unauthorized online leaks, the label is doing everything possible to prevent and avoid any further illegal distribution of songs including moving up the release date of the album to Oct. 30,” a label rep says in a statement.
The label acknowledged that finished songs, as well as unfinished material and demos, had made their way online. For weeks, Britney tracks have been surfacing everywhere from PerezHilton.com to YouTube, though it’s been unclear which versions were the final, mastered tracks.
In September, PEOPLE got an early listen to finished songs from the album – including “Radar,” “Piece of Me,” “Break the Ice” and “Heaven on Earth.”
In addition to Spears’s recent personal troubles, her label has faced numerous leaks – including her video for “Gimme More,” a rough version of which hit YouTube before the clip was scheduled to debut on MTV.

Britney Spears is-- as we speak -- visiting with her children at her home in Malibu.
An eyewitness tells TMZ that Sean P. and little Jayden were escorted into the house this morning, along with what appears to be the court ordered monitor. Britney is now walking around her gated community, dressed in a super short pink mini-dress, with the boys and the same nanny that was with the kids at Kevin's house.
Her hair is in a ponytail and she's talking on her cell phone. Quality time!

Brit to Parenting Coach -- Buzz Off |
|
08 Oct 2007 // POSTED BY: Louisa |
|
Sources tell TMZ the real reason Britney Spears didn't answer her buzzer when her kids came to visit last Thursday is because she wants nothing to do with anyone who tries to tell her how to be a good parent.
We're told Britney was well aware that her kids were coming at 10:00 AM. She had telephone conversations about it 10 minutes earlier. Britney's big concern was that she didn't want the parenting coach, who was in tow, to tell her how to interact with her kids.
So Brit's solution was to not answer the buzzer, as her kids cried in front of the house and waited for 40 minutes before K-Fed's bodyguard pulled the plug and returned home.
Britney has been told for a year that she needed help in raising her kids, but she has steadfastly refused to even get a proper nanny. Now the squeeze is on and she's not responding.
And even though our sources say Britney will show for court as ordered on October 26, another source tells TMZ Britney has repeatedly said she would never attend a court hearing.
And finally, as if her life isn't messy enough, we're told Britney is running out of money. Even though her single is a hit, the prospects of the album remain questionable because she's not going to promote it or tour. And we're told she spends like a crazy woman

Britney Stops At Starbucks, Rite Aid And Gets A Flat Tire! |

07 Oct 2007 // POSTED BY: Louisa |

If you thought her weekdays were busy, just look at her weekends! After a long (Fri)day of Starbucks and swinging by Rite Aid with JR, our girl Brit got a flat tire in the middle of the night up on Mulholland. (She did call the cops for help... but rumors that her Malibu home was broken into are completely untrue!) Thankfully, the paps came to the rescue - one photog worked his magic and changed the tire himself! Brit, of course, was extremely gracious and then even blew us a kiss! In other Britney news, the pop sensation saw her kids briefly this weekend (sweet!) and will visit with them again this week during a scheduled visit.
Also, our girl completed not one but two court-mandated drug tests - one Friday and one yesterday - and the verdict? Negative, y'all!

Whoops!

Britney's Latest: Blackout |
|
07 Oct 2007 // POSTED BY: Louisa |
|
Britney Spears has finally shed some light on the title of her new album.
Jive Records announced Friday that the embattled pop princess had dubbed her forthcoming oeuvre Blackout. The album is due for release Nov. 13.
In addition to the chart-topping single "Gimme More," Blackout will feature the songs "Heaven on Earth," "Radar," "Piece of Me" and "Break the Ice," per Billboard.
The video for "Gimme More" hit iTunes Friday and was due to premiere on MTV's TRL Monday. In the video (which was briefly available on YouTube before being yanked), Spears stars as dual versions of herself—a blond-haired good girl curiously watching a brunette bad girl perform a pole-dancing routine.
Despite her success on the singles charts, the past week has been a tough one for Spears.
On Monday, a judge stripped her of custody of her sons, one-year-old Jayden James and two-year-old Sean Preston, turning them over to Kevin Federline full-time.
Though Spears is allowed to visit the boys every other day, her sessions will be observed by a monitor, who has the authority to "terminate visitation immediately if any conduct or action by [Spears] endangers the minor children," according to the judge's order.
The next hearing in the matter is scheduled for Oct. 26.
With very little in her life going her way, Spears may have finally decided to attempt to rebuild her relationship with her estranged family.
According to People, the pop star's mother and sister, Lynne and Jamie Lynn Spears, flew from Louisiana to Los Angeles on Friday evening.
"Brit really needed her mom," a source told the magazine. "So, Lynne flew out, and they met."
Perhaps in an attempt to evade the hordes of paparazzi, Lynne reportedly dropped by her daughter's Beverly Hills home at about 3 a.m., then drove the two of them back to Britney's new Malibu pad.
The mother-daughter duo had a public falling-out in June, when Britney was photographed handing Lynne a document that reportedly warned her to stay away from her grandsons if she had been taking any medication that could impair her judgment.
Despite the bad blood between the two, Lynne has never given up hope of reconciliation.
Ambushed by photographers last week while driving around her hometown of Kentwood, she offered the statement, "I just want to say, I love my daughter very much."

Britney Spears names new album "Blackout" |
|
06 Oct 2007 // POSTED BY: Louisa |
|
Britney Spears' first studio album in four years will be called "Blackout," her label said. The Jive Records release is due in U.S. stores on November 13, and a day earlier internationally. The album title "refers to blocking out negativity and embracing life fully," said Jive, a unit of Sony BMG Music Entertainment.
Its first single, "Gimme More," soared 65 places to No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart Thursday after selling 179,000 downloads. It marks her first top 10 hit since "Toxic" in March 2004, and her best showing on the chart since her smash debut "...Baby One More Time" hit No. 1 in 1999. Spears lip-synched to "Gimme More" during her infamous performance at the MTV Video Music Awards last month.
While her professional fortunes appear to be improving, her personal life remains troubled. Spears lost custody of her two young sons last week to her ex-husband Kevin Federline. A Los Angeles family court on Thursday issued strict rules governing her visitation rights, including a requirement that a monitor be present whenever the pop star is with them.
Spears' last album, 2004's "In the Zone," sold poorly relative to her earlier releases.

Britney Reunites With Mom Lynne |
|
06 Oct 2007 // POSTED BY: Louisa |
|
Days after losing custody of her two kids, Britney Spears found some solace by reuniting with estranged mom Lynne Spears.
"Brit really needed her mom," a source tells PEOPLE, "So Lynne flew out and they met."
Spears will be needing all the support she can get. Documents released Thursday regarding her heated custody battle with ex-husband Kevin Federline revealed stricter measures, particularly placed on her.
With regard to her supervised visitation rights with her two sons, Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1, the document says: "the monitor shall terminate visitation immediately if any conduct or action by [Spears] endangers the minor children."
Before their next hearing on Oct. 26, she must complete three joint counseling sessions with Federline, three individual sessions, and twice-weekly random testing for drugs and alcohol.
Sources say Lynne and Britney's younger sister Jamie Lynn flew from Kentwood, La., to Los Angeles Friday evening. On arrival at LAX, the two were mobbed by photographers.
Jamie Lynn, wearing eyeglasses, kept her head low, covered by the hood of her sweatshirt. Despite the attention, the women made a quiet exit from the terminal, declining to comment or to acknowledge the group.
Around 3 a.m., Lynne paid a visit to her daughter's Beverly Hills home before driving the two of them to Spears's new Malibu pad.
The mother-daughter pair had a falling out back in June, when Spears handed her mother a reportedly upsetting letter. According to TMZ, the letter asked that Lynne stay away from Spears's sons if she is taking any medications that might cause her to be impaired.
Spears told reporters at the time, "I'm praying for her right now. [I hope] she gets all the help she needs," Spears said.
Says a source, for now, "Everything's great."

Britney Spears's Pole Dancing Video: Bada-Bomb With Critics |
|
06 Oct 2007 // POSTED BY: Louisa |
|
Britney Spears is not doing well with judges lately.
The custody-battling pop star is now getting pounded in the court of public opinion for her new pole dancing video for the single "Gimme More" off her upcoming album, Blackout, to be released Nov. 13.
"Our analysis: Looks like it was shot in one take on the cheap and then gussied up with a bit of cutting and camera work," grumbles Rolling Stone on its Web site. "There's no real choreography (just a bit of dancing near a pole) and all the smoke and mirrors – literally and figuratively – made us nauseous."
Entertainment Weekly complained: "I've seen sexier pole work during an afternoon of fly-fishing."
And Stereogum.com says that this Tale of Two Britneys "hurts like the Dickens."
For Spears, the good news is that the video is considered a step up from her disappointing performance at the MTV Video Music Awards.
"It looked a little more energetic than the VMA performance and she didn't look as scared or as freaked out," says JJ Kincaid, afternoon DJ at Z100 in New York. "But we just expect so much more and it's like, 'Oh, girl. Please just do something different. Come on.'"
The single still continues to do well – it's one of the Top 5 requested songs on Z100 – and not everybody was left as cold by the video, though the compliments continue to come backhanded.
"She dances much better than she did at the VMAs," says one user who posted the link on Digg.com, "and she actually looks good."

Britney & JR Go To New York! |
|
06 Oct 2007 // POSTED BY: Louisa |
|
No, not the city - we spotted the pop princess and her princely producer sneaking into a boutique on Robertson Blvd. which happens to share its name. The pair browsed through the store's selection of clothes, with Britney eventually settling on some white shades (the Nicole Richie model?), a new wrap, a yellow top and a leather jacket. (Brit was kind enough to model the whole ensemble for us on her way out of the store - luckily, we'd already seen how she looks in a pink wig!) We couldn't help but notice how comfortable Brit and JR seemed to be together - she kept bopping and dancing around, while he kept returning to her side as she perused the store's wares. Might they be working on something besides some sick tracks? From there, the dynamic duo visited a more familiar location - the studio! Unfortunately, a bit of a fracas seemed to break out between a few of the paps and the security guards. Oh well - at least Brit's got a few bodyguards looking out for her interests!
New York, New York - it's a hell of a town store!
By the way, the haters who've been saying that Britney doesn't care about her kids might want to take a look at what's dangling from her rearview mirror - would an uncaring mother keep a baby shoe displayed so prominently?

Britney Spears looked distressed while running errands in L.A. following a judge's decision allowing her only supervised visits with her sons Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1.
During runs to Ralph's Supermarket in L.A. and a local Starbucks, the 25-year-old was seen clutching her Yorkie terrier, London, while crying in anguish.
She appeared to be in better spirits later while enjoying a light dinner of quesadillas and a mango margarita with friend Sam Lutfi at Casa Escobar in Malibu .
Some women approached her and she was very sweet to them,a witness tells Usmagazine.com.The manager offered to sneak her out the back but she declined. She insisted on coming out the front way.
On the way out of the eatery, Spears showered the paparazzi with praise. "I love you guys, she told photographers.
Her good mood didnt last long, however. After she climbed into the passenger seat of the car, she began sobbing uncontrollably.

The video (mostly swinging around a stripper pole) was Brit’s “concept and her vision” and directed by first-timer Jake Sarfaty (”handpicked” by Ms. Spears). Britney Misses First Visitation With Her Boys |
|
05 Oct 2007 // POSTED BY: Louisa |
|
… because of a broken intercom! Britney Spears was supposed to get her first, supervised visitation with her boys, Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1, on the morning of Thursday, Oct. 4 – three days after she last saw them. But an insider tells Life & Style that things tragically fell apart because of a faulty intercom! The night before, “She checked into the Beverly Wilshire hotel. But early that morning, she realized it wouldn’t be right to have her first visit with the boys in a hotel. She needed to see them at home, with their things around them,” says the insider. “She and Alli [Sims] headed to Brit’s Malibu house. They went to sleep as soon as they got there. Brit was up in plenty of time to prepare for the boys’ visit at 10 a.m.” “But she waited, and waited, and they didn’t show up. Alli’s cellphone rang, and it was Kevin’s people, saying that the boys were going back to Kevin because she hadn’t answered the intercom at the gate! “Brit didn’t realize the intercom wasn’t working. She begged them to bring the boys back. But they wouldn’t. She was devastated that they wouldn’t turn around.” Better luck next time! Source: Just Jared

Britney Spears fails to regain custody of sons |
|
05 Oct 2007 // POSTED BY: Louisa |
|
Britney Spears has failed to regain custody of her two young sons but she was granted visitation rights by a Los Angeles judge who ordered her to hand the boys over to her ex-husband.
Britney Spears was ordered to undergo random drug testing Scott Gordon, the judge, rejected a request from the troubled pop star to lift an order granting Kevin Federline sole custody of Sean Preston, two, and Jayden James, one. The couple had previously shared custody equally.
But Mr Gordon did say Spears, 25, could make monitored visits to see her children every other day, a court spokesman said.
Spears's attempt to challenge the ruling awarding Federline sole custody came on the day she was due to hand over the boys. She was not present for the Wednesday hearing, a closed three-hour session, although her ex-husband, 29, did attend court.
Mr Gordon's ruling on Monday that Federline should care for the children full-time for an indefinite period followed his earlier finding that Spears engaged in "habitual, frequent and continuous use of controlled substances and alcohol".
She was ordered to undergo random drug testing and hire a parenting coach.
advertisementMr Gordon set another hearing for October 26 to review the situation and possibly revise his order. Both Federline and Spears are required to attend.
Sorrell Trope, the pop star's lawyer, said that Spears had lost custody temporarily after failing to provide proof she had a valid California driving licence. She was also accused of missing a drug test but Mr Trope insisted there was "no evidence that she actually failed a test".
The interim custody order also followed charges against Spears that she left the scene of an accident after driving into a vehicle in a car park.
The bitter custody battle caps a tumultuous year for the singer who has weathered what appears to be a very public breakdown marked by exhibitionist head shaving, constant nightclubbing and trips into and out of rehab.
An attempt to revive her stalled career at last month's MTV Video Music Awards was widely derided as an embarrassing flop.
In August, Federline's lawyer, Mark Kaplan, said Spears's former husband was seeking greater control of his sons to keep them "isolated from risks".

As she slipped out for a Starbucks run, it was clear the 25-year-old had been crying and appeared to break down in her car as she clutched her Yorkshire Terrier. Britney's aunt Chanda McGovern recently spoke of her family's fears for the troubled star. [ SOURCE]

Troubled Britney Spears has finally got some good news, her new song is now a success on the music charts.
Despite the pop star's turbulent personal life and the humiliation of her much-panned performance at MTV's Video Music Awards, Gimme More jumped from No. 68 to No. 3 on Billboard's Hot 100.
The song, released to radio stations in August, also topped the US magazine's Hot Digital Songs chart at No. 1 with 179,000 downloads,
Gimme More is the first single from her new album, set for release on November 13.
Earlier this week, a judge ordered the 25-year-old singer to temporarily hand over custody of her two sons to ex-husband Kevin Federline.
On Wednesday, a Los Angeles court commissioner granted her some visiting rights, but Federline, 29, remains full-time father to Sean Preston, two, and Jayden one-year-old Jayden James.
